What is Telemedicine

Telehealth is the distribution of health-related services and information via electronic information and telecommunication technologies. It allows long-distance patient and clinician contact, care, advice, reminders, education, intervention, monitoring, and remote admissions.

Remote Patient Monitoring

This allows caregivers to monitor patients who use mobile medical equipment to collect data on things like blood pressure, blood sugar levels, pulse, etc.

Interactive Medicine

Interactive services can provide immediate advice to patients who require medical attention. There are several different mediums utilized for this purpose, including phone, online, and home visits. A medical history and consultation about presenting symptoms can be undertaken, followed by an assessment similar to that which is usually conducted during face-to-face appointments.

Store-and-Forward

Store-and-forward telemedicine is collecting clinical information and sending it electronically to another site for evaluation. Information typically includes demographic data, medical history, documents such as laboratory reports, and image, video and/or sound files.
